Ultrasound Cavitation
Cavitation is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment, often referred to as “non-surgical ultrasonic liposuction.” It uses low-frequency ultrasound waves to break down fat cells in the subcutaneous tissue.
How It Works
The term “cavitation” refers to the physical process of creating microscopic bubbles (cavities) within a fluid.
1. Bubble Formation
When low-frequency ultrasound waves (usually 40 kHz) penetrate fatty tissue, they cause the formation of tiny vacuum bubbles around fat cells.
2. Cell Disruption
These bubbles grow and then implode, creating pressure that ruptures the membrane of fat cells (adipocytes).
3. Fat Release
As the fat cells break down, their contents—triglycerides and glycerol—are released into the intercellular fluid.
• Glycerol, being water-soluble, is absorbed into the bloodstream and used for energy or eliminated naturally.
• Triglycerides are metabolized in the liver and removed via the lymphatic system.
Important: Cavitation targets only fat cells—the skin surface, nerves, muscles, and blood vessels remain unharmed.
Treatment Procedure
Cavitation is a comfortable, painless procedure, typically performed on areas with stubborn fat deposits such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, and upper arms.
Treatment Phases
• Client Preparation
The client removes all metal jewelry and exposes the area to be treated.
• Application of Gel
A special ultrasound gel is applied to ensure optimal transmission of ultrasound waves.
• Cavitation Process
The technician uses a device with a handheld probe, moving it in circular motions over the targeted area. Clients may feel a mild warming sensation and hear a slight buzzing sound in the ears—this is completely normal.
Radiofrequency (RF) After Cavitation
After cavitation, we apply radiofrequency therapy—a non-invasive body treatment using high-frequency electromagnetic energy to heat the deeper layers of skin and subcutaneous tissue.
This method is highly popular due to its ability to tighten sagging skin, reduce cellulite, and reshape the body.
How RF Works
• Deep Heating: RF energy targets water molecules in tissue, generating heat. The temperature in the dermis and fat layers rises to between 40°C and 70°C.
• Collagen Stimulation (Skin Tightening):
The controlled heat causes existing collagen fibers to contract and stimulates fibroblasts (connective tissue cells) to produce new collagen and elastin—a process called neocollagenesis. This leads to long-term skin tightening and improved tone.
• Effect on Fat and Cellulite:
Heating fatty tissue promotes fat breakdown (lipolysis), boosts circulation, and improves lymphatic drainage—helping to reduce cellulite and local fat deposits.
Maximizing Results
To ensure effective fat elimination and optimal results, it is essential to follow these steps:
• Hydration: Drink at least 2–3 liters of water daily to support the lymphatic system in flushing out released fat.
• Physical Activity: Engage in cardio exercise (e.g. brisk walking, running, cycling) for at least 20 minutes, ideally immediately after treatment and over the following days.
• Diet: Eliminate all carbohydrates from your diet during the treatment period.
Results
Visible results—such as a reduction in body circumference—can often be seen after just one session.
For more noticeable and lasting effects, a series of 4 to 6 sessions is recommended, spaced 7 to 10 days apart.
⚠️ Note: Cavitation is particularly effective for body contouring and inch loss in specific areas, but it is not a treatment for significant weight loss.
